Light Blogging and the "Jesus Tomb"
I've been preparing for lecture/talk with Karen King and Elaine Pagels, of Gnostic gospels fame, so I haven't had the time to prepare new blog entries in our ongoing textual criticism series.
Hopefully, sometime soon.
On a different note, did anyone see the Discovery Channel's "Jesus Tomb" special? I forgot it was on, but I've been reading a lot about it.

I would have to say the best part about all of this is that people are learning that Jesus's name was "Yeshua."

"Yeshua" -> Greek -> English = "Jesus"
Different Hebrew forms -> English = "Joshua"
The names evolved differently. Namely, "Joshua" didn't come through the Greek. Feel free to ask a language professor for a clarification and better explanation.
No, the best thing about this lost tomb movie is that Christianity is a false religion. Yeshu did not resurrect, did not ascend, and did not die for the sins of mankind. and guess what, we're all not going to hell. Your Satanic doctrine of Christianity has been disproven. Also, guess what the DNA tests on Mary and Jesus' brothers will also disprove the virgin birth. So you will be left with a shell of a religion. Your faith is a lie. Who ever said that Eichman was in heaven or was a believer in Jesus?
Maybe I'll do stuff on the mystery religions sometime. But, for now, feel free to tell me what is compelling about the evidence from the tomb documentary. Since secular Israeli archaeologists aren't finding it compelling, nor am I, I'd be curious why it is so great. I assume you like anything that "disproves" the claims of Yeshua.
