Psalm 143 and Original Sin and Righteousness

I was reading through some Psalms today and I was struck by the following in Psalm 143:
1Hear my prayer, O LORD;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
2Enter not into judgment with your servant,
for no one living is righteous before you.

No one living is righteous before God.

The consistent teaching of Scripture is that our own righteousness cannot stand before God. We need a righteousness that is not our own.

A righteousness that comes from faith.

So when you hear that that "original sin" teaching is just a Christian invention, check Scripture.
